Graeme Clark pioneered the discovery of electrical stimulation of the auditory brain pathways for profound deafness. His awards include the Lasker-De-Bakey Award for clinical medical research; Fritz J & Dolores H Russ Prize for bioengineering achievements; Lister Medal, the world’s most prestigious award for surgical science; CSL Howard Florey Medal for biomedicine; Zotterman Medal, Nobel Institute for Neurophysiology, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm; Zülch Prize by Max Planck Society, Germany
