After being awarded the 2011 Northern Territory Young Australian of the Year, Kalinda has been in Sydney undertaking her PhD candidature at the University of Sydney. Her project is looking at intersecting disparities in care and outcomes for people with lung cancer. She is also a research fellow with the Sydney Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander statistics at the University of Sydney and is the unit coordinator for the ‘Basics of Epidemiology’ at Charles Darwin University.
