Rodney Croome is one of Australia's leading advocates for the human rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. In recognition of his work he was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2003 and was named Tasmanian Australian of the Year 2015. Rodney grew up on a dairy farm in North West Tasmania and is a graduate of the University of Tasmania. He is currently the national director of Australian Marriage Equality. He lives with his partner Rafael in South Hobart.
